So I am back with a new blog about my latest travel trip to Rhodes. It has been just over 4 years since my last holiday abroad. During the trip I also visited the smaller Island of Symi on a day trip, so technically not all the photos are of Rhodes.
I wanted the editing of this set of photos to 1. Be consistent and 2. be reminiscent to my Santorini photos to keep a Greece theme to them. I could not use the same editing as Santorini as Santorini is all white washed buildings and that exact editing didn't do justice to the warm stone of Rhodes. So I used a variation of my Kodacrome preset I created a while back (see my preset blog HERE). I shifted the blues a bit more to the teal side, upped the clarity and now it really brings out the warmth and texture in the stone whilst still fitting in with my last holiday photos.
Within the last 4 years I have switched camera systems so it would be a great test as to how much I liked this new camera while traveling abroad. Last time in Santorini I mentioned in my blog about that trip I wished I had a lens that went wider than 35mm. You can read about my the gear I took to Santorini HERE. Now that I am with Fuji rather than Sony I have the Fuji 16-80mm F4 lens (24-120mm Full frame equiv). This honestly rarely comes off my camera and was a fantastic lens for this trip. The Fuji X-S10 and this lens fits into a small bag, so super convenient for travel. I will be making a blog about moving from Sony to Fuji and whether it was the right move to make. I did have a good idea however that this would be a great set up for this trip as I did do a staycation last year, which was great and got some fantastic photos out of it which I posted up on my Instagram.
I enjoyed this holiday. Lots of walking, sight seeing, good food and photos. Everything I look for in a holiday.
Below are the photos. Thanks for reading.
